Help Us Build The Future of Travel

At Airalo, we’re making it easier for people to stay connected wherever they travel. As the world’s first eSIM store, we help millions of travelers access affordable mobile data in 200+ countries and regions around the world.

Today, we’re a team of 400+ people across 60+ countries, building a product used by travelers every day. We’ve grown quickly, but we’ve worked hard to keep what matters: trust, ownership, and the freedom for people to do great work without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy.

We’re fully remote by design, genuinely global, and united by a shared mission to make travel simpler for everyone.

Curious what it’s actually like to work at Airalo? We’ve put together a guide for each of the hubs we hire from most, covering our benefits, remote culture, employment setup, and what our team values most:

  • Life at Airalo · España: https://airalo-public.notion.site/life-at-airalo-espana
  • Life at Airalo · United Kingdom: https://airalo-public.notion.site/life-at-airalo-united-kingdom
  • Life at Airalo · United Arab Emirates: https://airalo-public.notion.site/life-at-airalo-united-arab-emirates

Airalo built the world’s first eSIM marketplace. Today most of our customers buy a data plan for a trip, use it, and come back the next time they fly. We are building something people install once and keep, that works at home as well as abroad.

The industry we came out of spent decades building walls to protect itself from its own customers: fine print, fair-use policies, roaming charges that arrive after the holiday is over, contracts written to be hard to leave. We are taking those down, and we are doing it with clarity and care rather than noise.

Most of that is design work. The machinery under connectivity is genuinely complicated, and none of it is the customer’s problem, making it disappear is the job.

Designing something people live with is a different job from designing a good purchase. A trip purchase is won at checkout, in a few minutes, often in an airport. A product that stays on someone’s phone for years has to be worth opening when nothing is wrong.

We are looking for the design leader who can take us there. You’ll report to the Chief Product Officer, as a peer to the leaders of Consumer Product and B2B Product.

What you own:

  • Own every surface, consumer and business. On consumer, that’s acquisition, conversion, customer experience, retention, core systems, Airalo One, and our new bets, each with its own product manager and engineering team. On B2B, it’s reseller experience, corporate experience, and partner onboarding. Make all of it feel like one relationship rather than a series of separate transactions.

  • Set design strategy. Define what the product should feel like in two years, which bets get us there, and what we are deliberately not doing.

  • Lead research and design as one function. Run the product design guild and the research team, with research shaping strategy rather than answering requests for it.

  • Own brand in the product, co-authored with Marketing. Marketing leads the campaign and positioning; you own how the brand is felt, the design system, typography and colour, motion and haptics, in-app photography, and the tone of everything from a paywall to an error message.

  • Build quality as a system. Define what finished means and hold the authority to enforce it: one design system the B2B platform inherits from rather than forks, accessibility designed in rather than retrofitted, and words treated as design rather than copy added at the end.

Your First Year:

  • Land the brand evolution in the product, with our flagship connectivity launch as the vehicle.

  • Take the app from viable to lovable: micro-animations, haptics, and patterns that feel native on iOS and Android rather than one layout that satisfies neither.

  • Decide what the design system needs — it has a real accessibility standard and no dedicated engineers, running on champions per platform.

  • Draw the working boundary between design and product management so designers are neither order-takers nor deciding alone.

  • Move research from answering questions to setting them, and make its output something the roadmap actually turns on.

  • Build the career framework for design and research, with a bar you can defend at each level.

  • Hire, tell us what shape the team should be, not only how big.

Must-haves:

  • Have led design for a business at real scale, responsible for a whole product rather than a slice of one, consumer depth matters most, and experience also running a business or professional product is a strong advantage, since running both from one team is the specific problem here.

  • Have led or worked closely with research, and know what it’s for beyond validation.

  • Have written a design strategy, won the argument to get it adopted, and lived with the result.

  • Are still close to the work, not the main designer, but someone whose judgement on a screen is worth deferring to.

  • Have grown designers into leads and leads into managers.

  • Can make the case for design in commercial terms as fluently as in design terms.

  • Reach for one system that scales rather than bespoke solutions that multiply, and know what a design system costs to maintain, not only to launch.

You should apply if…

  • You think in systems, not screens. You can hold a whole product, consumer and B2B, as one relationship, and you build the design system, career framework, and quality bar that make good work repeatable rather than heroic.

  • You treat research as a strategic input, not a rubber stamp. You want research setting the questions the roadmap turns on, not just validating decisions already made.

  • You can own brand inside the product. You’re comfortable co-authoring brand strategy with Marketing while owning how it actually shows up, motion, tone, typography, the moment a customer touches the product.

  • You’ve done this at scale and stayed close to the work. You’ve led design organizations, but your eye for a screen is still one people defer to.

  • You can argue design in the language of the business. You’ve written and sold a design strategy, and you can make its commercial case as fluently as its craft case.

Engineer Head of Engineering, Rewards at Moniepoint Group

Head of Engineering leads a 9-person rewards platform engineering team, scaling cashback and retention products across 23M users while building out to 25+ engineers.

Exec Remote Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who we are

Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.

As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.

Why South Africa

South Africa has one of the strongest engineering communities anywhere in the world, and we are deliberately growing our technology organisation in the country. We already have several team members based here. The work is fully remote, and the mission we are working on is a good deal closer to home than it is for our teams elsewhere.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Rewards to join us in South Africa.

About The Role

Rewards is one of the most strategically important platforms at Moniepoint, and it is being built into a dedicated charter with its own engineering and product leadership. The platform sits at the centre of our retention strategy across a user base of approximately 23 million people.

Today the platform does one thing: cashback. It works, but it has barely scratched the surface of what rewards can be, and the cashback product itself is not yet built to the depth it deserves. The ambition is to evolve it into a full rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform — and to do that across the full 360 degrees of our network. That means rewards for our business customers, rewards for our consumer customers, and rewards for the sales agents who drive our distribution. Very few companies get to design this from close to a blank page at this scale.

The Head of Engineering owns that platform end to end. You will inherit a team of nine engineers, including an Engineering Manager, and build the organisation out from there — the current expectation is a minimum of three product units and upwards of 25 people, though the eventual shape is genuinely yours to define. Your first objective is to get the best possible performance out of the cashback product we already have. From there, you will work with Growth, Sales and Marketing to determine what we build for acquisition and retention, and roll it out across every customer we serve.

This is a consumer-facing product engineering role, and that is the most important thing to understand about it. Rewards is won or lost on experimentation, personalisation, and the quality of the experience in a customer’s hands. We are looking for a leader who has built and shipped direct-to-consumer products at scale, who is fluent in experimentation and A/B testing, and who has real depth in front-end and mobile engineering — not a purely backend platform leader.

Moniepoint runs a Domain CTO model. We view our Heads of Engineering as the CTO of their domain: you own the technical roadmap, the architecture, the delivery, and the organisation beneath you. You will have full autonomy over engineering strategy, architecture, hiring, operating cadence and roadmap trade-offs.

You will report functionally to our Group CTO, with a dual reporting line into the Product leader for Rewards. That second line is a delivery relationship rather than a seniority one — engineering and product are peers here, and you will build the team to full capacity together. Your responsibilities as Head of Engineering, Rewards includes:

  • Owning the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards Platform end to end.
  • Improving the performance, reliability and depth of the existing cashback product as an immediate first priority.
  • Evolving cashback into a broader rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform serving business customers, consumer customers and sales agents.
  • Building the engineering organisation from its current base - structuring product units, hiring engineers and Engineering Managers, and leading through those managers as the team scales.
  • Establishing a strong experimentation culture: A/B testing, cohort analysis, and measurement that lets the team learn quickly what actually changes customer behaviour.
  • Working closely with Growth, Sales and Marketing to translate acquisition and retention objectives into product and engineering initiatives.
  • Owning the customer-facing experience of rewards across mobile and web, including how quickly and reliably customers receive what they have earned.
  • Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics, and own the engineering health of the domain — incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and developer experience.
  • Build the platform to serve customers across multiple geographies as Moniepoint expands.
  • Partner with Product to define the rewards-specific metrics and OKRs that do not yet exist, and hold the team to them.

Who You Are

  • Direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale. You have built and shipped products used directly by large consumer audiences, and you understand what moves engagement and retention. This is the defining requirement of the role.
  • Genuine front-end and mobile depth. You have led or personally built consumer-facing mobile and web experiences. A backend-only background, however strong, is not what this role needs.
  • Experimentation and growth engineering. Hands-on experience running A/B tests, feature flagging, and measurement frameworks, and using the results to drive product decisions rather than to justify them.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing managers — leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, not a single team.
  • Hands-on technical leadership. You are still close to the code. We expect a meaningful proportion of hands-on engineering time and technical credibility with the engineers you lead.
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • Comfort with our backend environment — Java and Spring Boot — and the ability to lead backend engineers credibly, even if it is not where your own depth sits.
  • Experience building and scaling an engineering organisation from a small base, including hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
  • Strong collaboration with commercial stakeholders — growth, marketing and sales — and the ability to translate business objectives into engineering work.
  • Rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalisation or growth platform experience is a strong advantage but is not required.
  • Fintech or payments experience is an advantage, not a requirement.

Cultural Alignment

As well, we assess every candidate across eight dimensions that define how great leaders operate at Moniepoint. We look for evidence of all eight throughout the process, not just in a single conversation.

  • Customer Obsession: Build deep empathy for users. Solve problems intuitively, and fix root causes, not just tickets.
  • Craft: Master the fundamentals. Reason from first principles, make trade-offs explicit, and raise the bar on quality.
  • Systemisation: Turn repeating decisions into scalable mechanisms. Reduce cognitive load and raise engineering quality.
  • Urgency: Move with disciplined speed. Act autonomously within scope, remove friction, and escalate risks early.
  • Ownership: Treat the platform as your own. Take initiative across boundaries and follow through without reminders.
  • No Ego: Put the mission first. Share credit, welcome debate, and never protect status over team outcomes.
  • Candour: Surface uncomfortable truths and risks early. Intelligent failure is welcome; concealment is not.
  • Integrity: Stay truthful and ethically consistent. Refuse toxic behavior. Performance without integrity is unacceptable.

What Success Looks Like In The Role

  • The existing cashback product performing measurably better — faster, more reliable, and more compelling to customers.
  • A credible rewards platform roadmap defined with Product, and the first initiatives beyond cashback shipped.
  • A functioning experimentation practice, where the team ships, measures and learns on a short cycle.
  • An engineering organisation built out from its current base, with a strong bench of Engineering Managers and senior engineers.
  • Rewards established as a measurable contributor to retention and engagement across the customer base.
  • Clear architecture standards and engineering processes in place across the product units.

Why Portugal

We have a small but strong group of team members in Portugal, having joined us from companies like Feedzai and OLX. As we continue to build out our engineering organisation across Europe, Portugal is a market we are actively hiring into.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to join us in Portugal.

About The Role

POS Hardware and Device Platforms owns the software behind the physical side of Moniepoint’s business: the systems that track, move, maintain and account for millions of POS terminals in the field. That covers inventory and warehouse management, logistics and distribution, repair and maintenance workflows, and the operational tooling the business runs on day to day. It is a backend and distributed systems challenge at real scale - making operational data about millions of physical devices visible, trustworthy and consistent across every market we operate in. It is not a hardware engineering role.

The Head of Engineering, POS Supply Chain, oversees that software estate and is vital as Moniepoint expands internationally and scales device operations globally. The position involves leading the technical strategy for the domain and managing a large engineering organisation in a remote, distributed environment. As Head of Engineering, Supply Chain, your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics tools and repair management software.
  • Leading an engineering organisation of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and Data Engineering.
  • Driving platformisation of inventory and supply chain systems so operational data is visible, trustworthy and consistent across millions of terminals.
  • Bridging the gap between operational practice and software systems by building operationally disciplined solutions.
  • Defining architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics across squads to ensure reliability and data integrity.
  • Collaborating with business and operational stakeholders to translate operational requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Hiring, mentoring and developing engineering managers and senior engineers to support team growth up to 30+ members.

Who You Are

  • 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
  • 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practising engineer. This means years spent writing Java yourself, not years spent overseeing teams who write it.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing managers - leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, rather than running a single team.
  • Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse or logistics software at scale.
  • Fintech or regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of the operational stakes of device management in a payments environment.
  • Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems.
  • Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.
  • Experience managing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical leaders.
  • A product-minded approach to solving operational problems with engineering solutions.

  • Scalable inventory and logistics systems delivered, supporting millions of devices across multiple countries.
  • A high-performing, motivated engineering team aligned with company growth.
  • Operational data visibility and trust established across multiple global markets.
  • Robust architecture standards enabling reliability and data integrity.
  • Effective collaboration with business and operational teams to meet rapid expansion needs.

What we can offer you

  • Lead engineering for one of Africa’s largest POS networks and directly influence our global expansion.
  • Work in a fast-paced, innovative environment at the intersection of fintech and hardware operations.
  • Be part of a mission-driven company impacting millions of businesses and individuals across Africa and beyond.

  • A preliminary phone call with the recruiter.

Engineer Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway at Moniepoint Group

Leads multiple engineering teams to own technical strategy, architecture, and platform reliability for a payment gateway serving millions of transactions across emerging markets.

Exec Remote Posted 8 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who We Are

Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, helping 20 million businesses and individuals access seamless payments, banking, credit, cross-border, and business management tools each month.

As Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, we power most of the country’s point-of-sale (POS) transactions. Through our subsidiaries, Moniepoint Inc. processes over $250 billion in digital payment transaction value annually.

Why Pakistan

Pakistan is home to the third-largest concentration of technology team members at Moniepoint, and it’s one of the fastest-growing markets we hire into, with real headroom for growth in seniority and scope. We look for people here who understand first-hand what it means for financial services to be difficult to access, and who want to work on problems at a genuine international scale - changing how banking works across emerging markets.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway to join us in Pakistan.

About The Role

Monnify is Moniepoint’s online payment acceptance platform: the gateway layer connecting merchants to card networks, banks and payment aggregators, and the tools that let businesses and developers accept and send money digitally. The division owns transaction reliability, routing and throughput at scale, together with the developer experience that sits on top of it - APIs, SDKs, documentation and ease of integration. Built first for Nigerian businesses and developers, the platform is now scaling internationally and moving towards multi-currency, multi-market support.

The Head of Engineering owns the technical direction and architecture of that platform, ensuring scalability, security and developer experience for both technical and non-technical users. The role involves leading multiple engineering teams through their managers, setting strategic architecture, and ensuring platform reliability, security and scalability across Payment In, Payout, Commerce Tools and developer-facing features. As the Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway, your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across all capability areas.
  • Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers, setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
  • Own the developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation, SDKs and integration ease.
  • Drive platform evolution towards multi-currency and international scalability.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability and security within a regulated environment.
  • Partner with product, commercial and operations teams to align technical investments with business goals.
  • Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support growth.

Who You Are

  • Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practising engineer. This means years spent writing Java yourself, not only years spent overseeing teams who write it.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing managers - leading an engineering organisation through other engineering leaders, rather than running a single team.
  • Experience in payments, fintech or financial services products, with a working understanding of payment flows and compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of API-first products, developer platforms and API integration.
  • Proven leadership of multiple engineering teams via managers in a scaling organisation.
  • Strong backend engineering skills in high-throughput, distributed transactional systems.
  • Experience building or operating a payment gateway or multi-currency payment platform is a strong plus.

What To Expect In The Hiring Process

  • A preliminary phone call with the recruiter
  • A Panel interview session with two of our VPs of Engineering
  • A Technical Assessment with our Group CTO / Co-founder
  • A Behavioral and technical interview with our Group CEO / Founder
  • Technical Workshop with our Group CTO / Co-founder

Some of the technologies you’ll get to work with

  • Java (latest versions)
  • Spring and Spring Boot
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elastic search
  • Microservices architecture on AWS

What we can offer you

  • Own the payments infrastructure that thousands of businesses and developers build on, at a company processing hundreds of billions of dollars in transaction volume annually.
  • Work in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment at the core of how money moves in high-growth markets.
  • Be part of a mission-driven company expanding access to financial services for millions of businesses and individuals.

Engineer Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway at Moniepoint Group

Leads multiple engineering teams to own technical strategy, architecture, and reliability of a payment gateway platform serving millions of transactions.

Why South Africa

South Africa has one of the strongest engineering communities anywhere in the world, and we are deliberately growing our technology organisation in the country. We already have several team members based here. The work is fully remote, and the mission we are working on is a good deal closer to home than it is for our teams elsewhere.

So, now we are looking for our Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway to join us in South Africa.

Moniepoint is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates.

What this role involves

Fluxx is looking for a Senior Director, Professional Services, to join the Customer Experience Team.

The Senior Director of Professional Services is a strategic business leader accountable for the operational and financial performance of the organization’s onboarding and implementations. This leader will oversee both internal teams and external implementation partners to ensure customer projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and at scale, and model both financial discipline and customer stewardship, ensuring the Professional Services function operates as a scalable business engine and a trusted partner to our customers.

About Fluxx:

At Fluxx, our mission is to be the leading collaborative grantmaking platform in our global communities. We believe in building technology that drives positive impact in our world. Our platform helps foundations and agencies streamline the grantmaking process, making it easier to get funding to those who need it to support their mission. • Develop and execute financial forecasts, staffing models, and pricing strategies that align with revenue goals and corporate objectives.

  • Partner with Finance and the VP of Customer Experience to report on performance, identify levers for margin improvement, and ensure profitability across the portfolio.

  • Define annual PS financial targets and develop plans to achieve or exceed them.

  • Optimize for both financial and customer outcomes — ensuring short-term profitability supports long-term customer and business health.

Balanced Decision-Making & Customer Stewardship:

  • Exercise sound judgment in balancing financial outcomes with strategic customer investments, knowing when exceptions or goodwill work are warranted to protect relationships or market reputation.

  • Evaluate tradeoffs thoughtfully — using data, business context, and customer insight to guide when to prioritize margin versus long-term trust.

  • Partner with Finance and CX leadership to track and learn from these decisions, creating guidelines for future scenarios.

  • Champion the principle that strong customer outcomes and operational discipline are mutually reinforcing, not opposing goals.

Operational Excellence & Delivery Governance:

  • Establish and enforce delivery methodologies, governance standards, and performance frameworks to ensure quality, efficiency, and predictability in project outcomes.

  • Standardize implementation offerings ranging from Quick Start (~$10K, ~1 month) to complex enterprise deployments (~ 18 months, $100K+).

  • Drive improvements in throughput, resource utilization, and burn rate while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

  • Implement clear project performance tracking — ensuring visibility into backlog, delivery velocity, and margin by project type.

Partner Ecosystem Leadership:

  • Serve as the executive owner of the implementation partner ecosystem, which delivers approximately half of all implementations.

  • Design and lead a partner enablement and certification framework, ensuring partners are trained, equipped, and empowered to deliver as seamless extensions of the company.

  • Establish partner performance scorecards and conduct quarterly business reviews to drive accountability, delivery quality, and contribution to profitability.

  • Create scalable reporting and collaboration processes to minimize tactical management overhead while improving partner outcomes.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Sales Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales leadership to ensure accurate project scoping, pricing, and resourcing, driving predictable and profitable deal structures.

  • Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Support to align Professional Services delivery with product evolution and the overall customer lifecycle.

  • Serve as a key member of the Customer Experience Leadership Team, influencing company-wide decisions that impact revenue, delivery, and customer outcomes.

Tools, Data, and Performance Visibility:

  • Own the Professional Services Automation (PSA) and project management tools, ensuring data accuracy and real-time reporting on utilization, backlog, forecast, and burn rate.

  • Build and maintain dashboards to provide executive visibility into PS performance metrics, trends, and risks.

  • Use data-driven insights to optimize staffing, resource allocation, and delivery processes.

Talent Development & Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of project managers, solution builders, and data migration specialists.

  • Build clear role definitions, career paths, and performance frameworks to attract and retain top talent.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement across internal and partner teams.

What you bring to the team/ About you:

  • 10+ years of experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or Customer Delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven success in managing financial and operational metrics, including utilization, margin, throughput, and forecasting.

  • Experience managing implementation partners, including enablement, certification, and performance management.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience developing and managing P&L forecasts.

  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with a track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Expertise with PSA tools, project management platforms, and performance dashboards, particularly Rocketlane and/or Planhat.

  • Experience leading teams delivering SaaS implementations from quick-start to complex enterprise configurations.

Sales Director of Corporate Development (remote work) at CloudLinux

Director sources and evaluates acquisition targets, manages M&A pipeline, structures deals, and oversees post-close integration while advising on strategic partnerships and financing.

Exec Remote Posted 11 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

CloudLinux is a global remote-first company. We are driven by our principles: do the right thing, employees first, we are remote first, and we deliver high volume, low-cost Linux infrastructure and security products that help companies to increase the efficiency of their operations. Every person on our team supports each other and does what we can to ensure we all are successful. We are truly a great place to work. Check out our website for more information cloudlinux.com.

Position Overview:

The Director of Corporate Development reports to the CFO and owns the company’s inorganic growth agenda: the acquisition pipeline from origination through evaluation and post-close integration coordination, and the routes that reach the same ends without a purchase, including strategic alliances, joint ventures, and major commercial partnerships. The role also partners with the CFO on long-term strategy and on debt and equity financing. The role’s center of gravity remains sourcing and screening: building a disciplined flow of qualified targets and ensuring that every opportunity reaching the leadership team arrives with its financial consequences fully understood.

Diligence in this role extends beyond the financial statements: evaluating the leadership, culture, and post-close alignment of a target’s principals is a core responsibility, not an afterthought. The role is also the organization’s guardrail against deal momentum: every opportunity is scored against a consistent methodology, and recommendations follow the scores, not the level of internal enthusiasm. The role also owns transaction-related financial planning, including acquisition and integration budgets, working alongside the corporate FP&A process rather than running it. This is a hands-on position: you will build the pipeline, frameworks, and models yourself.

Targets are typically tuck-in software and hosting-adjacent businesses in the USD $1 million to $5 million enterprise value range, funded from operating cash flow. We expect 1 to 2 closed transactions per year at steady state, with a pipeline of roughly 2 qualified opportunities under active review at any time. Partnership, alliance, and joint venture opportunities run through the same screening and scoring discipline as acquisitions, so that build, buy, and partner are compared on one basis.

Work is fully remote, with flexible hours, so you can plan your day and work from anywhere in the world.

Join us to make a difference!

Responsibilities:

Origination

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition targets aligned to the company’s strategic priorities, through market mapping, competitive landscape monitoring, and thesis-driven target identification.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with investment bankers, brokers, and industry advisors so that the company sees relevant opportunities early.
  • Conduct direct outreach and early-stage relationship development with founders and owners of prospective targets.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline records, including passed opportunities and the rationale for each, so the pipeline improves with every decision.

Screening and Evaluation

  • Design, maintain, and apply a standardized screening and scoring methodology, approved by the leadership team, that rates every opportunity on consistent criteria: strategic fit, financial thresholds and return, technology and product considerations, integration complexity, and counterparty risk. No opportunity advances to leadership consideration without a score, and the score travels with the deal.
  • Ensure accept and reject recommendations follow the scoring methodology and are supported by stated evidence. Where the organization elects to proceed against the score, document the rationale and the specific assumptions that must hold, so the decision is made with open eyes and the record reflects it.
  • Prepare concise initial evaluations of screened targets: what it costs, what it returns, what has to be true for the thesis to work, and what happens if those assumptions are wrong.
  • Build valuation and deal models for targets under active consideration, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, synergy assessment, and financing considerations.
  • Coordinate financial due diligence and partner with Legal, Technology, and functional leaders on cross-functional diligence workstreams.
  • Lead counterparty diligence on a target’s principals and leadership team: reference checks, background verification within applicable legal limits, litigation and reputation review, and a candid assessment of how the sellers are likely to behave as partners, employees, or earnout counterparties after close.
  • Translate counterparty findings into deal structure: retention terms, earnout design, indemnification, and escrow recommendations, developed with legal counsel.
  • Support deal structuring and negotiation with responsive analysis, and prepare leadership and board materials for investment decisions, anticipating the questions leadership will ask and answering them before they are asked.
  • Track completed transactions against the original deal thesis and report variances honestly, so the organization learns what its acquisition judgment is worth.

Acquisition Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Build the full transaction budget for each deal: purchase consideration, advisory and diligence fees, financing costs, and working capital requirements.
  • Build the integration budget for each transaction, with synergy realization and integration cost phasing over the post-close period.
  • Incorporate acquisition impacts into the company’s forecast and annual operating plan in partnership with the finance team.
  • Support capital allocation analysis across competing uses of cash, including scenario and sensitivity analysis for investment decisions.

Integration Coordination

  • Own the post-close integration plan for acquired companies, including the 100-day plan, workstream coordination across functional leaders, and escalation of blockers to the executive team.
  • Lead the financial integration of acquired entities: reporting onboarding, budget incorporation, and systems transition in partnership with the accounting team.
  • Track realized synergies and integration costs against the deal model, and report variances to leadership.

Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures, and Commercial Partnerships

  • Identify and structure strategic alliances (commercial, marketing, or technology-sharing agreements) that deliver a strategic objective without an acquisition, and present them to leadership on the same scoring basis as a purchase.
  • Evaluate and structure joint ventures where a shared market or product justifies a separate entity with a partner: economics, governance, contribution and exit terms, and the financial model of the venture itself.
  • Lead the financial and commercial evaluation of major distribution, supply, and OEM agreements that expand market reach, in partnership with Sales and Product, including pricing, exclusivity, and minimum-commitment terms.
  • Maintain the partnership pipeline alongside the acquisition pipeline, with the same records of passed opportunities and the rationale for each.

Long-Term Strategy

  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, and CPO to maintain the company’s 3-to-5-year growth blueprint, refreshed annually ahead of the operating plan, with the market landscapes and competitive analyses that determine where acquisition, partnership, and organic investment each apply.
  • Translate the blueprint into the strategic priorities that govern the acquisition and partnership pipelines, so that origination effort follows strategy rather than deal flow.

Capital Formation

  • Support the CFO in raising debt or equity when the growth plan requires it, including private placements, secondary transactions, and credit facilities: financial model and use-of-proceeds analysis, lender and investor materials, data room preparation, and coordination of counsel and advisers.
  • Maintain relationships with lenders and prospective investors alongside the banker and broker network, so that financing options are understood before they are needed.

Corporate Development Function Building

  • Establish the playbooks, screening criteria, deal templates, and pipeline infrastructure of a durable corporate development capability.
  • As the function grows, hire, coach, and develop team members, and act as a collaborative business partner to leaders across the organization.

Professional Requirements

  • 8+ years of combined experience across corporate development, investment banking, private equity, and/or transaction advisory, including direct origination experience: sourcing, outreach, and early-stage negotiation with target companies.
  • Experience conducting or coordinating due diligence across the financial, legal, and human dimensions of a transaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build institutional-quality financial models from a blank workbook, including three-statement, valuation, and scenario models.
  • Experience preparing and presenting analysis to executive or investment-committee audiences, and defending a recommendation under challenge.
  • Working knowledge of software or recurring-revenue business models and the metrics that govern them.
  • Exposure to post-merger integration, whether leading workstreams or supporting a broader integration program.
  • Experience structuring strategic alliances, joint ventures, or major commercial agreements, and exposure to a debt or equity financing process (private placement, secondary transaction, or credit facility).
  • Experience contributing to multi-year strategy work with senior leadership: market landscapes, competitive analysis, and growth planning.

Soft Skill Requirements

  • Even temperament under pressure and friction. Negotiations stall, diligence surfaces unwelcome facts, and counterparties do not always behave well. The role requires composure when they do not, and the judgment to respond with process rather than emotion.
  • Low ego. The role prepares decisions for others to make, and much of the work is unglamorous: pipeline records, diligence checklists, budget reconciliations. We are looking for someone who takes satisfaction in the work being done properly rather than in being seen doing it.
  • Persistence through the repetitive and detail-heavy phases of deal work, without cutting corners and without needing the work to be interesting to do it well.
  • Sound commercial judgment: the ability to decline an attractive-looking opportunity when the numbers or the counterparty do not support it, and to say so clearly.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and data integrity.
  • Effective communicator, able to convey and present information in a concise and well-organized manner, leading with the conclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with different individuals across the organization, and able to partner with all levels of management while relating to their needs and perspectives.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and market-sensitive information.
  • Displays integrity and is accountable for actions and statements.

Other Valued Attributes

  • An MBA would be an asset.
  • Big Four transaction advisory experience and/or software industry experience would be an asset.
  • Prior experience as the founding or first hire of a finance or corporate development function would be a significant asset.
  • An established network among software-sector bankers, brokers, or founders would be a significant asset.
  • Experience partnering with or operating within an FP&A function would be an asset.

What’s in it for you?

  • A strong focus on professional development with opportunities for learning and growth:

    • Interesting and challenging projects,
    • Mentor and other knowledge-exchange programs;
  • Fully remote work with flexible working hours, that allows you to schedule your day and work from any location worldwide;

  • Paid 24 days of vacation per year, 10 days of national holidays, and unlimited sick leaves to ensure you maintain a healthy work-life balance;

  • Compensation for private medical insurance;
