Design UX Researcher / Designer at Skyward

Conducts user research through interviews and usability testing, synthesizes findings into insights, and creates wireframes/prototypes to inform product design decisions.

What this role involves

We are Skyward.

That is, a love for people, for improvement, for human advancement through information technology. We are a people-centered business with a desire to serve others. We are diverse and unified; creative and collaborative; a collection of complementary, not competing talents. And though on the surface we remain relaxed, beneath, a torrent of energy links us to our civic tech mission.

We stand by our values, and we won’t compromise on any of them.

Integrity: We’re conscientious, intentional, and empathetic. Our words and actions align. That’s our character. Please don’t ask us to play another part, we’re poor actors.

Compassionate: If we may borrow a quote from Theodore Roosevelt: “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Because our team is thoughtful and supportive, caring deeply for each other, our clients, and our work, this comes naturally.

Inquisitive: We remain students by failing openly and turning lessons into solutions.

Unconventional: For us, life isn’t what happens outside of work. Work happens inside of life and our culture erases the line often dividing the two.

Authentic: Made possible only because we embody the values listed above. We’re relaxed and fun yet intensely curious and driven. Team members are placed with thought, care, and precision to ensure that Trust, Truth, and Transparency continue to represent our brand.

Because of that, we continue Onward, Upward, and Skyward.

We need a UX Researcher / Designer. Do you get a little thrill from watching a user do something you swore nobody would ever do, and then realizing they’re right and the design is wrong? Are you the person who asks, “but what were you actually trying to do?” until the real need falls out? If you can turn a messy pile of interviews into an insight the whole team rallies around, and then sketch the screen that fixes it, then please apply.

Let’s go Skyward together.

What you’ll do:

  • Support a mission that matters. Help CMS deliver a world-class customer experience across its enterprise AI platform, grounding decisions in what users actually need.
  • Turn research into insight. Plan and run interviews, usability sessions, and surveys - qualitative and quantitative - then synthesize the mess into findings people can act on.
  • Dabble in design. Translate insights into low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes in Figma, partnering with the design team to shape and validate solutions (research-primary, but you get your hands on the pixels).
  • Map the experience. Build personas, journey maps, and service blueprints that show how users interact with AI services and where it hurts.
  • Champion accessibility. Keep Section 508 and WCAG front of mind so what gets built works for every user.
  • Drive customer success and engagement. Feed research back into onboarding, training, and product decisions so adoption actually happens.
  • Be the voice of the user. Bring evidence (and the occasional prototype) to a badgeless, one-team mix of engineers, designers, and CMS stakeholders.

What we’d like you to have:

  • A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in UX/HCD research (with hands-on design exposure) or a closely related field.
  • A strong research toolkit: user research, usability testing, synthesis, and the ability to tell the story behind the data.
  • Working design skills: comfort creating wireframes and prototypes in Figma, even if research is your primary craft.
  • Familiarity with the USWDS and federal CX mandates.
  • Fluency in modern research and design tools (Figma, Mural, Dovetail, or similar).
  • Genuine accessibility awareness. 508 and WCAG are part of how you work, not an afterthought.
  • Experience researching data-heavy or AI-driven products — dashboards, search, chat, or knowledge tools.

What would blow us away:

  • You’ve got strong visual/interaction design chops. You can take a concept from sketch to polished, USWDS-aligned prototype.
  • You previously supported CMS or another federal agency.

Even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply. At Skyward, we’re focused on hiring individuals with the right skills and passion to grow, not just checking off every box.

And now the important part. What we offer you:

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance
  • 15 days of paid leave
  • 7 days of sick leave
  • 2 days bereavement leave
  • 11 paid Federal holidays
  • Up to 40 hours for jury duty
  • 401K with 4% employer contribution (and no vesting period)
  • Up to 4 weeks of paid paternity and maternity leave
  • Company provided laptop
  • $5,000 per year for professional development
  • $600 per year for technical supplies and equipment
  • $2,000 referral bonus
  • Life and disability insurance
  • HSA and FSA
  • Legal Shield and ID Shield Voluntary Benefits
  • Opportunity to work in a collaborative, motivated team focused on modernizing government services with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. Who says government work can’t be exciting!

$90,000 - $115,000 a year

We believe great work deserves great pay. That’s why we ensure our compensation is not only competitive but also fair and transparent, as required by Maryland law. Expect a salary that matches your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the table — because you’re worth it!

At Skyward, we support flexible working hours and remote opportunities to help maintain a healthy work-life balance for all employees.

Offers of employment with Skyward are contingent upon acceptable results of a background investigation.

Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance due to the nature of our work as a government contractor.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

Design Design Engineer at Vercel

Design Engineer owns product design and frontend implementation for AI Gateway, working across dashboard, CLI, and API surfaces to create developer-friendly interfaces for AI model routing and management.

Mid Hybrid Posted about 13 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next.

For more than a decade, Vercel has shaped how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents.

We are building the platform for that future, trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next.

About the Role:

AI Gateway gives developers one place to connect applications and agents to hundreds of models with one API key. It handles provider routing and fallbacks, unifies billing and observability, and lets teams manage spend and security controls across production AI workloads.

Designing this well is a systems problem. A developer should be able to choose the right model, make and verify a first request, diagnose a failed request, and configure routing, budgets, credentials, and security controls without losing sight of the application they are trying to build. The right interface might be in the dashboard, on the public model catalog, in the CLI, in an API response, or in code.

You will be the Design Engineer for AI Gateway, owning product design and frontend implementation across those surfaces. You will work with customers, a Product Manager, and engineers to understand the problem, explore solutions, build the production experience, ship it, and learn from what happens after launch.

AI Gateway is live, the model ecosystem changes every week, and the team can move from an observed problem to production quickly. This is a rare chance to use your product judgment, design craft, and code to shape a developer product and ship the experience yourself.

You will be the design owner embedded with a Product Manager and a dedicated engineering team. You will also have the Product Design team around you for critique, collaboration, and support. AI Gateway will be your main product area, with room to pursue design-led improvements across Vercel. You will report to the Design Team.

If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you’re located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.

What You Will Do:

  • Own product design and frontend implementation for meaningful parts of the journey from discovering a model to making a first successful request and operating AI in production.
  • Design and build production experiences across the website, dashboard, CLI, and APIs, choosing the right medium for each problem.
  • Make models, providers, credentials, routing, budgets, logs, performance, privacy, and governance understandable, then create patterns that extend across new providers, modalities, and workloads.
  • Talk directly with customers and use product data to understand problems, define success, make tradeoffs, and improve what ships.
  • Own quality after launch, including visual and interaction craft, accessibility, performance, resilience, instrumentation, and edge cases.
  • Use coding agents to explore and implement ideas quickly, while testing, debugging, and taking responsibility for what ships.

About You:

  • Your work shows what you personally identified, designed, built, shipped, and learned after launch.
  • You build production-quality web applications with React and TypeScript and can contribute confidently in a large, existing codebase.
  • You bring strong visual and interaction craft and have made technical or data-rich products understandable without removing the control advanced users need.
  • You can move between graphical interfaces, CLI workflows, API behavior, and implementation details, treating accessibility, performance, failure recovery, and instrumentation as part of the design.
  • You use customer research and product data to make decisions, communicate your reasoning clearly, challenge ideas constructively, and change direction when the evidence changes.
  • You use coding agents in your daily work, but you can explain, test, debug, and take responsibility for the code they help produce.

There is no required path into this role. You may come from product design, frontend engineering, creative development, or a career that does not fit a standard title. We care about the quality of what you have shipped and the judgment behind it.

Bonus If You:

  • Have experience with developer tools, infrastructure products, model marketplaces, or observability experiences.
  • Have worked with AI models, providers, inference platforms, guardrails, or AI application tooling.
  • Have experience with APIs, command-line tools, structured product content, or agent-facing interfaces.
  • Have built an application or agent with Vercel’s AI SDK or AI Gateway.

Design Senior Motion & Graphic Designer at Silverback Strategies

Senior designer creates static and motion graphics for paid social campaigns, translating brand strategy into high-quality ad creative while managing compliance and maintaining visual consistency at scale.

Senior Posted about 13 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Silverback Strategies is a performance marketing agency built to help marketers grow and capitalize on change. Ad Age, Inc Magazine, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, and The Washington Business Journal have recognized Silverback as one of the best places to work.

We hire the best and help them get better. Silverbackers are supported, challenged and inspired by their peers. Regardless of title or tenure, every Silverbacker plays a role in helping our agency get better. This is a place where you can make a difference.

What you will do:

• Translate strategy into visuals: partner closely with our Creative Strategist to take research, hooks, and loose creative briefs and turn them into concrete visual concepts, storyboards, and finished assets

• Produce both statics and video: design and build static ad creative and edit/produce short-form video and motion content for paid social at a consistently high craft level

• Interpret brand guidance at any altitude: work from anything ranging from a thin one-pager to a comprehensive brand system, and reliably produce creative that’s unmistakably on-brand either way

• Navigate regulated-industry review cycles: produce creative that anticipates compliance and legal scrutiny, minimizing revision rounds and rejection risk without watering down creative quality

• Push brands into new creative territory: identify opportunities to evolve a brand’s creative expression to unlock scale and new-market growth, while staying inside brand-safety guardrails

• Select and edit raw footage/imagery: review raw photography and video footage from shoots and select, crop, cut, and edit the strongest material into finished assets — no on-set creative direction required

• Own asset quality and turnaround: deliver polished, client-ready work with minimal internal revision cycles so assets aren’t burning days internally before they even reach the client

• Maintain visual consistency at scale: keep creative consistent and on-brand across a high volume of ad variations, formats, and platform

What we are looking for:

Core Experience

• 5+ years in a hands-on creative production role — Art Director, Senior Designer, Creative Producer, or similar —with dedicated performance/paid social experience

• A portfolio that shows range across both static design and video/motion editing, ideally for paid social specifically

• Experience working within brand guidelines of varying depth and translating them into new creative applications

• Experience in regulated or highly regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance, legal, or similar) is a strong plus, given our client base

• Experience working in matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and layered approval processes

Craft & Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma (or similar) for static design and layout

• Strong proficiency in After Effects (or similar) for motion graphics and video editing

• Comfortable editing raw video/photo footage into finished assets: selects, cuts, pacing, captions/graphics overlays

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator) as needed

• Understands platform-specific creative specs and best practices across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and other paid social channels

Creative & Strategic Judgment

• A strong eye for what “good” looks like in modern performance advertising — thumb-stopping, polished, and effective, not just pretty

• Understands performance/paid-social fundamentals (hooks, pacing, hierarchy, CTAs) well enough to make smart creative calls independently, without needing to run the strategy

• Can take a loose brief or visual direction and fill in the gaps with sound creative judgment

• High attention to detail — typos, brand misapplications, and spec errors don’t make it to client review

• Comfortable giving and receiving fast, iterative feedback in a deadline-driven environment

Working Style

• Thrives on speed without sacrificing polish — this role owns production timelines that need to move fast to offset long approval cycles

• Collaborative by nature; sees the Creative Strategist as a partner, not a hand-off point

• Self-sufficient in production; doesn’t need heavy oversight to get from brief to finished asset

What success looks like:

• Assets consistently reach client/compliance review in 1–2 internal revision rounds or fewer

• Creative reliably passes compliance and legal review with minimal rework

• Output balances brand safety with creative freshness — clients see growth and new territory, not just “more of the same”

• The Strategist and Senior Performance Creative function as a true two-person creative engine, each covering what the other doesn’t

What This Role Is Not:

• Not a photo/video shoot creative director — you won’t be expected to run or direct live shoots, just to select and edit from what’s captured

• Not a pure strategist — research, testing frameworks, and reporting live with the Creative Strategist, not this role

—Why Silverback?—

Silverback isn’t for everybody. If you’re an A player, you will get paid more, learn more and grow faster with support from a smart and fun team. If you’re a B player, you will be miserable

Work with the A team: We are ruthless about putting the best possible team on the field

Make an impact: We’re a small agency. Everybody has the opportunity to drive change and impact

Get paid: We hire the best and pay them generously

Do cool sh*t: From media to SEO to measurement, learn the cutting edge of what works

—Benefits & Perks—

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans
  • Virtual Team Events and a fun, casual, inclusive company culture
  • Company-paid ClassPass membership
  • 12 weeks of Paid Parental Leave
  • Summer Fridays
  • 401(k) with Employer Match

Silverback Strategies is an equal opportunity employer. If you believe you meet the qualifications for the position, then we invite you to apply. We celebrate the free flow of conversation, ideas and opinions at Silverback, but actions such as bullying, discrimination, harassment or retaliation of any kind are strictly prohibited in our workplace. We are committed to providing a safe, open and accommodating environment that allows all of our team members to thrive. Employment decisions are made without regard to age, color, disability, family, genetic information, origin, race, religion, sex. For more information, we invite you to visit eeoc.gov.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

We’re a social and end-to-end content production agency. Since 2008 we’ve been building an integrated, digital-first offering that combines content excellence with channel best practice to drive performance across our client base.

As a values-driven agency, our people are our power. We stay ahead of the game by hiring smart thinkers and giving them back what they put in: through rapid progression, industry-leading benefits and a culture which has been named in Campaign’s Best Places to Work for 5 years running.

We’re looking for a 2D/3D Motion Designer to join a new in-house team at one of our top clients.

  • You know how to balance user experience and storytelling with business objectives into engaging content.
  • You inspire all those around you.
  • You’re calm under pressure, mature in tricky situations, and a problem solver both in your work and when work isn’t going to plan.

You must have strong interest in AI and emerging technologies, and hands-on experience already working with AI tools. This role requires someone who is curious, proactive and confident using AI to enhance creative thinking and execution, particularly within video production. Experience with AI is not theoretical - we’re looking for someone who has actively explored and applied these tools as part of their creative workflow.

The main AI software and platforms currently utilised for video production include Google Gemini / Nanobanana, ChatGPT, Arcads, Mirage, and Layer. Experience with these tools (or closely related platforms) is highly valued, alongside a thoughtful perspective on how AI can support creativity, production efficiency and innovation without replacing craft or quality.

In short, you’re a professional grown-up – excellent at your craft, and a solid team player for what will be an expansive team.

Essential Skills:

  • A strong portfolio, with examples of great creative thinking across different channels.
  • Experience with AI - Google Gemini / Nanobanana, ChatGPT, Arcads, Mirage, or Layer.
  • Lead end-to-end concept development, steering the vision and guiding junior members from brief through to completion.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, fellow creatives and internal marketing teams and apply your creative skills and design expertise to build innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure there is a strong, compelling idea at the heart of all creative executions.
  • Build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders defending ideas and pushing the creative thinking along the way.
  • Thrive in brainstorms and contribute to the development of original concepts.
  • Responsible for a wide variety of hands-on creative tasks, including graphic design, illustration, layout, artworking, asset preparation and storyboarding.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Articulate and present ideas to senior stakeholders
  • On top of trends in the creative arts, competitors and inspiration from unlikely sources.
  • A love and understanding of mobile games, and gaming culture
  • Great attention to detail – quality controlling content to ensure it is consistent in style, quality, and tone
  • Excellent skills in the Adobe package
  • Excellent skills in storytelling

Bonus Skills:

  • Gaming experience
  • Working knowledge of motion graphics, gameplay recording and animation.
  • Good illustration skills
  • Social media savvy
  • Experience in the production of content for user acquisition
  • Open and excited by latest innovations in the space – for example the use of AI in creativity

Attitude & Communication:

You must be

  • Super organised and professional
  • A good communicator
  • Proactive - going the extra mile to get things done
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail

*Please ensure you include a link to your portfolio when applying for this position.

  • Named in Campaign Magazine’s Best Places to Work 7 years running +

About the job

We are seeking an Event Design Coordinator to manage the intake, production, and quality assurance of event-related creative requests coming from a wide range of teams across the business. This is a builder-and-gatekeeper role: you’ll work hand-in-hand with designers to turn varied, often fast-turnaround requests into flawless deliverables, including booth graphics, signage, decks, digital assets, swag, and invites, while proactively spotting risks (timeline, brand, print spec, or logistical) before they become problems.

We are not looking for someone who simply routes tickets. We’re looking for someone who understands both the creative process and the operational realities of live events well enough to catch a misaligned bleed line, a missing dieline, or a vendor deadline that’s about to slip, and to fix it before anyone else notices.

Responsibilities

  • Request Intake & Triage

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related creative requests coming from varied teams across Tether.

    • Scope each request clearly: deliverable type, format (print vs. digital), quantity, deadline, dimension, venue/vendor constraints, and brand requirements.

    • Flag conflicting timelines, unrealistic turnarounds, or missing information immediately, and propose a workable plan rather than waiting to be asked.

Design Collaboration & Project Management

  • Brief designers with complete, unambiguous specs so work is right the first time.

  • Manage multiple concurrent event workstreams across different teams and deadlines without dropping details.

  • Track status across all active requests and proactively surface bottlenecks before they affect the event date.

Quality Assurance (Print & Digital)

  • Review every designer deliverable before it goes back to the requesting team, checking brand consistency, copy accuracy, resolution, color mode (CMYK vs. RGB), bleed/trim/safe zones, file formats, and platform specs (e.g., booth panel dimensions, social crop ratios, slide aspect ratios).

  • Catch errors that would be costly or embarrassing to fix on-site or post-launch (typos, wrong sizing, low-res exports, broken links, outdated logos).

  • Maintain a QA checklist/process that scales across event types and gets sharper over time.

Event Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Document and file all assets, briefs, and final deliverables for each event in a shared drive, using a clear, consistent structure.

  • Organize files so the wider team can easily find past work, reuse assets, and cross-reference specs, timelines, or creative direction from previous events.

  • Keep a running record of vendor details, production specs, and lessons learned per event to speed up planning for future ones.

Risk & Logistics Ownership

  • Anticipate what can go wrong, such as vendor lead times, print production windows, last-minute scope changes, and shipping delays, and build buffer and contingency plans into every project timeline.

  • Coordinate with vendors and print/production partners as needed to confirm specs and delivery windows.

  • Keep stakeholders across requesting teams and design aligned with clear, proactive status updates rather than reactive fire drills.

Cross-Team Partnership

  • Act as a trusted liaison between business requesters and the design team, protecting designers’ time from ambiguous briefs while protecting requesters from missed deadlines.

  • Continuously improve the intake and review process based on what goes wrong (or almost goes wrong) on each event.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, event production, creative operations, or project management with a strong events component.

  • Proven experience managing print and digital production processes; you know what a dieline is, what “safe area” means, and why RGB assets can’t go straight to print.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills: demonstrated ability to manage several concurrent, cross-functional requests with competing deadlines.

  • Sharp attention to detail, comfortable being the last line of defense before a deliverable ships.

  • Experience reviewing and giving actionable feedback on creative work from designers, without needing to be a designer yourself.

  • A proactive, risk-first mindset: you naturally ask “what could go wrong here?” and build a plan around the answer.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable managing stakeholders across different teams with different priorities.

  • Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday, or similar) and design review tools like Figma

  • Experience setting up shared drive structures or asset libraries for teams.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish / Italian is a plus.

Important information for candidates
